Puh-Fye-Ferr

I went up to Pfeiffer this weekend to visit Joey and had a great time!

The only thing that was NOT okay was that it rained pretty much the entire weekend, which meant that we were stuck in his room most of the time. Which was really okay with me. The last two weeks have been really stressful and I really needed some down time, so it was nice to have it with Joey and his friends.

Also it was Pfeiffer Homecoming, so we went to the volleyball game which they won, and then last night we went to the dance. That was SO much fun :)

I have a test tomorrow in Lit so I hope I study enough for it.

Oh yeah, I forgot the highlight of my weekend...this morning right before I left my driver's side window shattered.

Oh well.

my ear is sore...

On Friday, Marissa and Eva and I got our ears pierced at the top together(it feels strange to say cartilages). And now my ear hurts because I keep hitting it and touching it because I keep forgetting I have a hole there.

I need to go work out. I've been sick the past few days and hopefully that will make me feel better.

I made a budget today because I realize everyday that I spend way to much money. I need to save a lot more.

I also changed my major yesterday, which I am SO excited about. I am now officially in art school! My major is studio art right now. Next year I will apply to be in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program where my concentration will be in Interior Design. Ooooooright :)

We are starting self portraits in drawing tomorrow and I wait in anticipation...

Peace and Love

Oh this week...

What can I say?

It has been a ridiculously hard week. I had my first test of the semester in Political Science today, and have been studying for it all week. Hard. I think I did ok. Hope so. Except that I really had to pee the whole time I was taking it. But oh well :)

Also, I have NOT been feeling well. Sleep hasn't really happened for me that much ever since last weekend...so naps are really nice. My throat has been sore, blah blah blah. It sucks. But the one thing that helps me surpass all that is that Joey will be here this weekend, and I am SO excited! And I get to watch him race in the Festival of Speed at the Velodrome on Saturday, and I always love going to the track :) No class tomorrow though, so I'll be able to sleep in as long as I want...ahhhh, nice.

I'm excited about tonight too because I'm going out for sushi with a few really amazing friends, and then we'll come back to the dorms and hang out....low key nights are the BEST, especially since we all went out a lot last weekend. Last night we watched Moulin Rouge...I forgot how much I LOVE that movie :)

ttfn!

Never Too Far

I realized today that I had never officially ended the Celo portion of my blog. So here it goes.

The morning I left Celo was sad, but it also meant the start of a new part of my life. I was going home. My mom came up the night before I left and we had a great supper with those few that were left at camp. She and I went into Burnsville to get ice cream and talked. Then we came back to camp and talked in Eliza's tent forever. It was the best feeling to catch up with her because before I left for camp at the beginning of the summer I felt like I hadn't seen her much. The chat was necessary. The drive back was exciting...I was so anxious to get back and see my city and the beautiful people in it.

When I got back to Atlanta I totally pampered myself...I got a much needed haircut and a mani and pedi. I had meat for dinner and all I remember is that I nearly fainted it was so good. I could feel a sort of lack of protein in my body, and so getting back into eating meat has been nice.

My life went right back into full swing as soon as I got back...I moved into my dorm two days after I got back and school started four days later. It was wonderful to reunite with all my college friends and we have had a great time getting back into gear with school and our social lives.

My classes are great; I'm taking Drawing I, World Literature, US History, French I and Political Science. I am so lucky to have such great professors and most of the classes are pretty interesting. I am also a nanny three times a week which is great because the girls are very sweet and I make good money doing it :) My roommates are so incredible, I couldn't ask for a better group of girls! We all get along so well, and Marissa and I have become almost inseparable :) She's absolutely phenomenal.

Joey is a freshman at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC this year. He is there on a cycling and academic scholarship and as far as I know he enjoys it. I was able to visit him twice already and although there really isn't much to do in that little town, he has made a few really great friends and I think his roommate is great. It's been extremely hard for me to adjust to his being gone this year, and at times I've wondered if I could really accept it. But I can. He is one of the best parts of my life and a little distance between us will never change that. It's been very hard, but I know that we will be able to make it work because we love each other. He means everything to me.

I guess I'll continue this blog for as long as I feel like writing. It's kind of fun, actually, and all of my friend's have blogs, so I guess that means I should keep one up too :) I miss Celo a ton, but it will always be in my heart and I will never forget all of the incredible people I met there or all the amazing memories we shared.

But for now, goodbye Celo, hello Sophomore year.

Pics!!!

Just some pictures from the last few days...

Camp's almost over...

Last night was extremely windy and I'm pretty sure I only got like three hours of sleep. I was also really hot, and really uncomfortable...I miss my bed at home :( Let's see....my day off was on Tuesday and it was really relaxing. I was homesick a lot of the time though because I was doing things that were making me that way, like appreciation charts, and I also had supper at the Celo Inn. Evan is a senior counselor and his parents own an Inn right down the road. It was his day off as well, so he invited Eliza and myself to come over for supper. His mom made delicious pesto potatoes that were from the garden, and we had a lot of veggies from the garden as well.

Yesterday was my last day of riding with the Juniors. Tomorrow is my last day of riding for the whole summer! It's sad to think that all my hard work for the summer is coming to a close...I'm going to miss the horses a LOT, because I've taken care of them and ridden them and trusted them with kids for two and a half months; what am I going to do when I get home? It was great, Ellie was one of the helpers and she took many pictures of me helping kids on to horses and working with them, because I hadn't taken any pictures like that all summer. It was a great day for riding and the kids had a lot of fun, but I sure am going to miss it. We also got these really awesome staff sweatshirts today, mine is blue and it has the Celo logo on the front, and then STAFF on the back :)

I have been reading Atonement this session, and I only have about 30 pages left. I've enjoyed most of it, and I can't wait to see the movie. Also this summer I read The Other Boleyn Girl in only a week! I LOVED it and that's another movie I really want to see when I get home. I have done a lot of good reading this summer, which is great because I'm taking World Lit this semester and I know we're going to have required reading for that class.

Today all the kids are going on the final camp out of the summer. I know a lot of the tent counselors will be sad about that! It's crazy that these kids leave the day after tomorrow....

Also on Tuesday I talked to this woman who wants me to babysit for her three days a week this year, and I took the job! She pays REALLY well, and it's only to babysit a 10-year old girl for 15 hours a week! I changed some of my classes around to fit with that schedule, so now I'm taking French I, Drawing I, World Lit, US History, and Political Science. I think it'll be a hard but great first semester, and I can't WAIT to get started! I'm not looking forward to the heat of Atlanta though; even on hot days here there's always a nice, cool breeze :)

I'll put some pictures up later...

Day off again :)

Today's my day off and it's been a great day so far! I been working on appreciation charts all day, which are what every counselor gets sent around Christmas time...you write memories and funny things on them now, and then you get it sent to you!

Gotta go eat dinner, more later!
